SOULSIGHT INSIGHTS

Career direction is often discovered through experiments

Feeling stuck at work can create pressure to identify one perfect path. A more practical approach is to understand what is missing, define the constraints, and test a direction in a small way.

Name the type of change you need

Career dissatisfaction can come from different sources: the work itself, the environment, lack of growth, misaligned values, compensation, exhaustion, or a life change outside work. The right next step depends on which problem you are actually trying to solve.

Ask what you want more of, what you want less of, and what cannot change immediately. Constraints do not erase possibility; they help define a realistic experiment.

Use evidence to understand strengths

Think of moments when you were effective and engaged. What were you doing? What kind of problem were you solving? Which skills did other people rely on? Repeated evidence is more useful than a broad personality label.

Strengths also have conditions. Leadership may feel natural in a collaborative team and draining in a political environment. Direction becomes clearer when you consider both ability and context.

Design the next test

A useful experiment might be an informational interview, a short course, a small freelance project, or taking responsibility for a new kind of task. Decide what you want to learn and when you will review the evidence. Seek qualified career or financial advice when a decision carries significant risk.
